Shoes are amazingly stiff and comfortable at the same time. I tried this and the Giro Empires, but the Sphyres were much more comfortable (width).

Ventilation is really good... to the point that you might end up with cold feet in bad weather.

Mine came like that too, not sure why they do that.

Likely to illustrate that either method is acceptable. The method with more loops across the ball of the foot will result in more tension. Personally, I'd be looking in the opposite direction - more tension across the instep, and less across the ball of the foot. but to each his own.
