Hi all

My Shimano RS80 c24 rear wheel has ingested some dirt and the bearings in nestling in the freehub are toast, as is the cone.

I think I can get a new freehub to fit - Ultegra 6700 10 speed looks the same. I'm struggling to find the correct cone part on the web, but I have also seen complete rear hub axles that look to have those included.

Can anyone help me with the cone part or advise if I am better getting a whole new axle?

I'm not sure there will be much in it cost wise.

Edit: I think the cone part might be Y-3DV98030.

@Rudi,

Here is a link to the exploded view of your rear wheel: http://si.shimano.com/php/download.php?file=pdf/ev/EV-WH-RS80-A-C24-R-3270A.pdf This will provide all the part numbers you will need. A good LBS will be able to order the parts for you, provided Shimano has them in stock.

I repaired an RS80 for someone a while back.
Found it was cheaper and easier to buy a low level back wheel (R500 or similar) and rob the whole axle and cones etc from it, and then put the worn parts into the cheaper wheel, and get its owner to use it as a winter wheel.

Many thanks for the help. I'll check out both options.
