Some comments after a short ride:

During the first hundred meters I could not tell any difference from my Cipollini Bond. The same feeling of a frame that is stiff, light and responsive. A frame that feels like a single block of carbon from the fork to the rear dropouts. Zero deformation, zero flex or rattle.

After a few kms the Skylon unfolded its advanced character. The way it floated over the tarmac, so smoothly but without isolating the rider from the asphalt's relief was perceivable. That does not mean that Skylon is a comfortable frame. But while it is - almost - as stiff as the Bond the ride is at the same time smoother, more nuanced, more sophisticated. In other words there is a certain finesse in terms of ride quality.

In terms of the handling it feels very balanced, just an idea more 'nervous' than my Bond but that may be related to the taller headtube.
What is also obvious, after a few kms, is the fact that the bars do add to the comfort. Time ergodrive bars are flatter than Ritchey evocurve and certainly carbon absorbs low frequency vibrations better than aluminium. The carbon monolink stem may help also but I think the bars contribute more to this.

Here is a 2016 Tour-magazine comparative test. Skylon is at the top in terms of bb stiffness, fork stiffness. The frameset itself is also aero but that is not something impontant to me...

Image

According to Tour-magazin and this roadbike.de test Skylon is not comfortable but IME that is not the case at all. Maybe the seatpost does not flex as it is aero but the frameset as a whole is smooth and springy.

These tests agree with my personal experience. Not comfortable but certainly rather smooth for a superbike:

Overall I am really happy, it is a highly refined frame at a top competitive level, something not easy at all to accomplish. After 25 years of riding that's definitely the best thing I 've ever ridden.
Tous mes compliments Time!

Love the Skylon. Lightweights look great on this setup.

Change the bars when you can.
