Hello!
First post and first modern build for me. I have been riding a 1994 Eddy Merckx MXL with Campa Record 9-speed for the past years but decided I needed something new.
Been of the bike for 9 months due to illness and a newborn baby. Instead I have been browsing for a new frame and collecting parts, both new and used. Decided to go with the Ultimate AL SLX.
The build was on a budget, and I had to restrain myself a bit in the end when our boy was born. They do cost a lot of money... Focus right now is to get back into the saddle. Did a 180km sportive last weekend that felt kind of good and the bike felt great. To bad winter is coming fast.

Forgot to weight all the parts individual, but right now its around 7.7kg (only have a 3 digit baggage scale right now)
List of coming updates:

New saddle (the Flite is temporarily borrowed from my Merckx because I didn't have time to brake in a new one before the sportive)
Wheels (something lighter and with lower profile)

Congrats on getting back on a bike! That's a good solid build you have there, looks great
9 months off due to illness is no good, great to hear you're back on two wheels.
This is a beautiful bike, definitely doesn't look like a "budget" build.

Thanks! Yeah, I did a total of 97km January to beginning of September + a few hours in the velodrome. My legs didn't feel as the used to do, but so fun to be back!

Been riding it a bit more now. Feels great.
Had some problems with a cracking noise that I first thought was the BB but after some help from my LBS we realized it was the bearings in the rear hub.
Thinking of what the next upgrade should be, I'm not a super fan of the Canyon stem so looking for options there. But 1 1/4 don't make it that easy.
Saddle is also on the list, going to start trying out some brands soon.
