But i do not decided yet, will use candy clear coat on Giant decals , or i just put decals on black paint and then put some clear coat layers ,and after take off decals.

Hey there,

I have been checking out the stuff you've done to your Giant since before I bought mine, and I now have a nice, red 2005 FCR of my own. I am starting to upgrade a bit and add stuff to the bike, and I was wondering if you could give me some input on what would be the most bang for my buck at this point in terms of weight reduction and ride quality (from all the stock parts except pedals). Also really appreciated you posting all the weights individually as you go, and was just wondering if you had any data on the original weights of the parts you first took off the bike - for comparison before I start upgrading. Glad to see you're still active and thanks in advance for your advice.

The sparkly bits aren't for me, but the transformation you've undertaken in incredible - I can't believe it's the same bike! The matte paint is excellent as well. Love the personalization - but the thought must have crossed your mains about what you could have got if you'd just bought a new bike!

If I am correct, the seat post uses a shim that if you remove allows you to run a 31.6mm post as I have done this with my two Giant frames. This way you can get some cheap ti bolts for the clamp area, and get a lighter set up.
